CGIF is a multilateral facility established by the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ("ASEAN"), along with China, Japan, Korea ("ASEAN+3"), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). It is set up as a trust fund of ADB. CGIF provides guarantees for corporate bonds issued by ASEAN+3 companies to support their access to the region's bond markets. The guarantees issued by CGIF are irrevocable and unconditional commitments to pay bondholders in the event of non-payment by the issuers throughout the bond's tenor.
